Our non-woven file belts can help you prep a metal workpiece for a final finish. Create a smooth surface on metals such as copper, aluminum, nickel, chrome, titanium, and steel with ease using our industrial-grade non-woven file belts. Red Label manufactures non-woven file belts in a variety of sizes and categories to meet the varying needs of metal fabricators and welders.
Non-woven file belts (also referred to as surface conditioning file belts) are belts uniquely designed for deburring, cleaning, blending, and finishing metal surfaces. Standard coated abrasive belts feature belt backings coated with abrasive grains. Unlike coated belts, non-woven belts are manufactured with nylon mesh fibers that contain bonded abrasive grains scattered throughout the mesh.
The nylon fiber mesh provides a more pliable surface, which creates more flexibility than coated abrasive belts. The unique design of non-woven belts provides improved performance for sanding uneven surfaces.
We manufacture non-woven file belts in several different sizes to accommodate the wide array of bandfile belt sanders available on the market. Our non-woven file belts are available in the following sizes:
Not seeing the belt size you need? We offer custom-manufactured sanding belts. Contact us to request a custom product quote and a member of our team will let you know if we can produce belts in the size you need. Looking for non-woven belts in larger sizes? We also sell larger non-woven surface conditioning belts ranging in sizes from 1” x 30” to 2” x 72”.
You’ll notice that our non-woven file sanding belts aren’t categorized by grit. There is no grit categorization for non-woven belts because non-woven belts aren’t coated with abrasive grains like regular sanding belts. Despite not having a grit rating, you can still expect the different categories of non-woven file belts to perform similarly to certain grit ranges. Below are the grit equivalents of our non-woven surface conditioning file belt offerings:
Non-woven file belts can be used for many different types of metal sanding projects, but they are primarily used by welders, metal fabricators, and automotive shops. Red Label’s surface conditioning file belts are commonly used to:
Of course, the uses for our non-woven file belts are not limited to the jobs above. Our abrasive technicians can help you determine if our non-woven file belts would be the right type of belt for your application.
Red Label manufactures our non-woven file belts to be a cut above the rest. Our surface conditioning belts are produced with industrial-grade materials, which allows them to last longer than most competing belts on the market. Our proprietary manufacturing process also ensures that the fibers used for our non-woven belts are always covered with resin to keep the fibers from melting onto the surface of the workpiece.
