Zirconia Vs Aluminum Oxide Wide Belts

Compared to aluminum oxide, zirconia is stronger, more durable, and more aggressive abrasive grain. Zirconia was the strongest abrasive grain on the market before the creation of ceramic belts. Zirconia is the better choice for sanding harder materials like hardwoods and metals. The aggressive cut the grains provide will sand these harder materials faster.
Zirconia wide belts have a higher price tag compared to aluminum oxide wide belts, but they also have a longer lifespan. You’ll end up saving money in the long run because you’ll have to buy belts less frequently.
