Our premium-quality industrial-grade non-woven file belts are long-lasting and produce a great finish for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum surfaces.
You’ll notice that our non-woven file belts are offered in three different varieties: coarse, medium, and fine. There is no grit rating for non-woven belts, but each belt will produce a scratch pattern consistent with certain grit sizes. Below are the grit equivalents for the different non-woven file belt varieties.
Non-woven file belts are produced with a non-woven nylon mesh scattered with resin-bonded abrasive grains as opposed to a standard sanding belt, which has abrasive grains coated directly onto the belt backing.
Surface conditioning belts are not well-designed for stock removal. They aren’t used to drastically change the shape or dimensions of your workpiece. Instead, they’re designed to provide a consistent and smooth finish. Non-woven file belts are pliable, which allows them to conform to uneven surfaces to create a smooth finish.
Non-woven file belts are commonly used by welders, metal fabricators, and auto body shops. They’re great for cleaning up welds, removing rust, and smoothing metal surfaces.
